This year will see the introduction of a new 'Star Player' award. On the result sheet you will see a box below each teams list that after each match a single players name will be entered for being that matches star player, such things as winning, etiquette, manners, a silly hat, fair play, calling a foul on themself; in fact anything you believe made that player stand out about the rest of your opponents team will be worth a mention and will be entered into a table with a cash prize at the end of the season going to the player with the most awards in each division. Hopefully this will encourage good sportsmanship as well as possibly giving somebody a chance that may not be the best player in the team. If you feel you have a star player who needs recognising then let us know on the back of the card why you chose that player and it may get a mention in the pool press the following week.
Due to pressure on committee members at busy times when asked specific questions during the season a rule has been brought in to stop any single member giving what is described as a "discretionary ruling" in areas of the league rules. Should anybody need discretion within the rules then they must allow atleast one hour for a reply and the committee member must consult atleast one other member to make a more informed decision. This will hopefully stop any pressured or bias in any response given. Please be patient in all cases where this is in place.
Fantastic news again this year as Costas from Andrews Fishbar has agreed a deal with the league to continue his amazing support of our league for a further 3 years. This enables us to plan for the future and for the further improvement of players and league officials alike. During the year Costas will work more closely with the league and a few surprises may unfold yet..........
More sponsorship news - Following a meeting with Phil & George of 'Speed Welshpool' a very important sponsorship package for the Welshpool County A team was struck whereby all team clothing and travel costs would be covered. It is impossible to convey how important this is to a team striving to win the league at county level. This level of support can only improve any area and Speed are showing they have the heart of Welshpool and the local community in their thoughts and during the new season there will be an event showing more commitment to pool in Welshpool. Keep watching........ Click the logo for more details ----~}>

With several cups again this year supported by Pete Sheppard and Alun Brooks the league looks to be on for another well supported season and hopefully for many seasons to come.
Following on from last years inaugural entry as doubles and trebles sponsor we welcome Micheal & staff from The Brieidden Inn back again this year for more very much appreciated support.
As ever in Welshpool we could not function as an ever growing league without the help and support of Craig and his staff in Molto's and Revell's
